And the Results Are....

Yesterday at 5:00 our family met up at Prenatal Imaging for a sonogram of Baby Hinson #2. We were all so excited to find out the sex of this baby. I was anxious when we go there but excited too. Time went by fast as we were waiting.

We got into the room and the sonographer started looking around at Baby Hinson #2 and everything was going great. After about 3 or 4 minutes she said, "I think I see boy parts" and a few seconds later, she confirmed!

Another boy for us! That makes 4 grandsons for my Mom and Dad!

We are so excited!

Now it is on to choosing a name. The second has not proven to be as easy as the first. We know as soon as we were told Judah was a boy that he would be Judah Zachry Hinson. This baby is nameless for now. Although we do have a few maybes.

I called one of my friends on the way home, who is also pregnant with her second (another boy), and told her to "break out the sports equipment"! We certainly will need it with all the boy around!

Yay for boys!

Counting Down

I am counting down the hours until we find out if Baby Hinson #2 is a boy or girl. Our appointment at Prenatal Imaging is at 5:00.

We don't care if this is a boy or a girl. We will be thrilled either way!

4 hours and counting!!!!

Tonight

As most of you know, Josh works at Verizon and with that come retail hours. Recently, his store has gone to 4, 10 hour days. When this change first happened, I thought I would love this because he would have off 3 days a week. While this will be great during the summer and I am off work, it has been difficult in the mean time. Since the work days are longer, the earliest he gets off is 7:30... which really means 8:00. So, obviously, this does not leave us a lot of time together on those days.

You probably know too, that Josh is in school working on his MAT- Master's of Art in Teaching. Josh has to schedule his work days around school; that means one of his days off has to be a school day. Our schedules are so opposite on these days that we don't see each other until late at night and some days he doesn't see Judah :(

Anyway, school's out for the summer (I think of Guitar Hero when I say that:))- for Josh that is- and we have more time together! I only have 12 more days of school!

Today is one of Josh's days off this week and I am so excited to have a full afternoon/ evening with him and Judah when I get off. We are just grilling out dinner and relaxing at home (watching American Idol of course) but I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to it!

It is the small things in life that make me happy!

That is right, I am pregnant with our second baby! Baby Hinson #2 is due November 3rd, 2010!!!
Josh and I are super excited about having another little one in the house with us! Judah is so laid back so I am confident that he will adjust well to the new addition.
We do ask that you pray for us as we get ready for our blessing. We still need to sell our house and need some clarification on another decision for our family.
Prayers are welcomed and appreciated!
When I get home tonight, I will post a video of my mom's reaction to the news.... hillarious!

You've Got Mail

You've got mail..... Judah that is!

A few days ago Judah recieved this in the mail:

Eljiah and John Daniel sent him the sweetest, homemade card (with Jenn's help of course)! And Judah loved it!

I didn't let JZ play with it too long..... it is going in his baby book so we had to keep it one piece.

Thanks Aunt Jenn, Eljah, and John Daniel! We love you CAN'T WAIT to see you!!!!

Today.....

Judah has had a little bit of a runny nose and cough for a few days..... I just thought it was teething and a cold that can go along with that.... until he woke up this morning with a 101.8 temperature! Josh was working today so I had call in so I could take JZ to see Dr. Getts. JZ does NOT have a cold but instead an upper respiratory infection AND his first ear infection.... a double one at that! :( So, he is on his 2nd antibiotic in less than a month.

I am so thankful that he is taking his bottles and playing like normal. He is not interested in food or cereal right now but that is okay.

Feel better Little Buddy.... we love you!

Snow in February

I know I am a little late in this posting.

When it starting snowing on the 12th, Josh was working and Judah and I were sleeping. We awoke to a beautiful blanket of snow starting to form :) I dressed JZ in some warm clothes and we sat by the front door and watched the snow come down. He was amazed and just stared. He was so cute :)

Josh ended up getting off work early so when he came home we all bundled up and headed outside for a few minutes.... literally, like 3 or 4 minutes was all we were out.

Here are our pictures:

Valentine's and Judah- 8 Months Today

Valentine's

Josh and I celebrated Valentine's Saturday because he had to work on Sunday. We had a great time! We went to Outback Steakhouse (yummy!) for a delicious dinner. We went all out.... 4 course meal :) bloomin' onion, soup/salad, steak, dessert. We enjoyed it!

Josh did great this year on my gift. I love giving and receiving gifts- this is my love language. I always tell him not to send me flowers because they will just die, but I also add they are nice to received occassionally! So this year I got 2 dozen pink and white tulips- and they are beautiful! Still looking good today! Josh also added to my Pandora bracelet that he started for me at Christmas.

(The tuplips weren't open very much in this picture but look even better now that they are!)

Judah- 8 Months

Today is Judah's 8 month birthday! And, what does he get? His first round of antibiotics :( Recently, JZ has been teething- cutting all 4 top teeth. With this comes a runny nose and often a fever. But this morning, he woke up and was burning up! Immediately, I checked his temp and it was 102.5!!!! I FLIPPED out! I know immediately this was more than teething. Thankfully, Josh was off today and could take him to the doctor without me having to take a day off work. Dr. Getts- a HUGE blessing :) - saw him first thing this morning and JZ is diagnosed with a sinus infection. Thank the Lord for an AMAZING pediatrician who knew what it was and gave him the meds he needs. So far Judah has had one dose of Amoxicillin and he will get the 2nd dose just before bed tonight.

Totally stole this idea from my friend Deborah Anne (thanks Girl!):

Today, JZ weighed in at 23 lbs 9 oz (clothed)! That's my BIG boy! I am so proud of all that he is doing now:

waving

saying "Dada"

saying "Hey"

scootting around

pushing up on all fours and rocking back and forth

goes to sleep on his own, in his crib

taking 2 naps day (1 1/2 to 2 hours) and a cat nap

sleeping 11 hours at night

He is just precious! Love him will ALL my heart!

This Weekend

Pray for me..... This weekend I am leaving Judah for the WHOLE weekend :( I have never done this before. I have left him for one night at a time but never this long. I know he will be completely fine being with Josh's parents tonight and mine tomorrow night. I am the one who needs prayer!

It isn't easy leaving this precious face.

Josh and I love working with the youth at our church and us being gone this weekend is because of our love for these young people. We will be working an Encounter. This is an INCREDIBLE event that will change the lives of youth people. We will spend the night at the church tonight and tomorrow and finish up Sunday after the 11:00 service.

Even though I will be so busy, I will miss my little man! This is good preperation for May. In May, Josh and I will be going to Antigua..... Yes, Antigua!!!!! My cousin in getting married there! We CANNOT wait! We will be staying on a Sandals resort and children are not allowed. Judah will be with my in- laws for 4 nights... (my parents are going too). I guess it is better to leave Judah a little bit at a time to prepare for 4 nights away.

Have a GREAT weekend!

I Could be a Stay at Home Mom....

So I was off work today- not because it was a holiday. Mrs. Mary, Judah's sitter, had a doctors appointment today. We just LOVE Mrs. Mary to pieces.... she is like another grandmother to our JZ. Josh and I are so thankful for Mrs. Mary in so many ways- first, she loves Judah so much, he does not have to go to daycare where many kids stay sick, she is close to home, and there are only 2 other children there only 3 days a week (just to name a few), so Judah gets a lot of one on one time! Mrs. Mary talks about how much she misses him when he is not there.

Our day started off with breakfast- bottle then cereal- No it did not start off with a trip to the gym for me, that will be tomorrow for Boot Camp. After that was play time- we started off on the floor playing with toys and seeing if Judah would be interested in crawling- no such luck! After that was a short nap. Next it was time spent playing in his exersaucer- he loves it! While Judah was in his exersaucer, he showed off some of his newest tricks (see video below). Judah is now saying "Dadda" all the time and he also waves! It is so cute! I know I am a proud momma, but it is the best to hear him talk! After all this excitement, Judah and I went and visited with Mamama, my grandmother, for a few minutes. She is so funny! Anytime spent with her will always bring some good laughs. Up next was a Wal-mart trip. We spent 1 1/2 hours there and JZ was SO good, even though he was tired. Once we got home, Judah went straight down for his afternoon nap. It was perfect timing because while he was sleeping, I was able to put away the groceries and make baby food. I made squash, carrots, and pears- yummy! Now he is up and playing again.

Although I really enjoy my job and Josh and I are SO THANKFUL for Mrs. Mary, I could REALLY get used to days like this with my boy! How much longer until summer? Just kidding!

Sorry it is sideways.

Boot Camp

Where do I begin? Let me start at the beginning. First of all, I have NEVER been a "workout kind of girl". I DO NOT like to sweat, AT ALL!!! So, after having Judah, I was trying to get rid of the baby weight (believe me, I had a LOT to get off- all worth it)! I started dieting pretty soon after he was born. The weight was going, but the inches were not. Six weeks after JZ was born (Judah Zachry), I started spinning- and LOVED it! However, $100 a month was a bit too expensive for me. I did it for a month and then took some time off becuase I started back to work (JZ was 10 weeks). I started back the middle of October at the Evans Y and have been hooked ever since! I go 3 days a week before work. I really enjoy going in the mornings because it is not as crowded and I don't have to put JZ in the nursery there and it is good "me" time. I have started making some good relationships with my "spinning buddies" too! I guess I tell you all this as background for boot camp.
One of my spinning buddies, Dawn (who is a Workout Queen), told me that the Y was offering Boot Camp so I excitedly decided to do it... not knowing what I was getting myself into! Yesterday was the first morning of boot camp (we meet Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings). And let me tell you, I am feeling it today! I know people say all the time, "I didn't even know I had these muscles" well, I am saying that today! Arms, back, legs, stomach, EVERYWHERE hurts! The instructor, or should I say drill sergeant, is in the military herself so Boot Camp is the perfect name for it! She had us dying... I talking sit ups, push ups, running, 6 inches, windsprints, suicides, you name it, we did it! I was exhausted after that class!
This program is 6 weeks. During the 6 weeks, we will have 3 PT tests, our first being Saturday. I am curious to see what that will be like, but I can imagine- NOT fun! However, I am looking forward to the progress I will make and the results at the end. My goal is to be in the best shape I ever have been.... we shall see! Wish me luck :)

They Made it Home!

The LIFE Ministries Haiti team made it back home safely this afternoon! Praise the Lord! This morning about 3 a.m., the team was able to get a military flight out of Haiti to New Jersey. Once they arrived in New Jersey, they were unsure of how they would get back home. Pastor Donnie's son, Brandon, was on 88.3 this morning when a local heard him telling the story of his parents and the team trying to get home. This local, who is also a pilot, decided he would use his own personal plane to fly to New Jersey today and bring them home! Not only was the team coming home, but Donnie and Cindy's kids were able to fly to New Jersey so they could all be on the flight home together!
The team arrived home safely around 4:30 today!
Thank you for your prayers and continue to lift Haiti up!

Pray for LIFE and Haiti

Below is an email from LIFE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL. I have known this pastor and his wife for MANY years. In fact, Pastor Donnie married Josh and I. Please read and pray.

As you may already know, Haiti has been devastated by the recent earthquake. We, at Life Ministries, have been particularly interested in this disaster as our pastor and some of our staff have been caught right in the middle of the devastation. We have not spoken with them in the last few days, but we have heard reports that Pastor Donnie and the team are safe. They have been working tirelessly in the ravaged city of Port-au-Prince.

Now is the time for the church to rise up and help this poor country. One of the best ways that we know how to do that at this time is by donating funds that will be used to help the Haitians in this critical hour.

Would you consider making a donation today to help the people of Haiti?

You can click here to give online through our PayPal account.

One hundred percent of all money given will go towards relief efforts in Haiti and all gifts are tax-deductible.

Also, please use the forward link at the bottom of this email to pass this along to others that would like to donate.

Thank you so much for your generosity,

Life Ministries Staff

Selling Our House

Just before Josh and I got married in June of 06, we puchased our townhouse. My thoughts on buying a townhouse were that we would have PLENTY of room because both Josh and I lived at home prior to getting married. Well, I was wrong- we did not have enough room! Combined we had so much stuff and immediately filled up our house and needed more room..... then, add a baby in the house! Soon after finding out I was pregnant with Judah in October of 08, baby things started multiplying in our home. Then came the baby showers! First of all, I am SO GRATEFUL for the all the showers that were given for us but I was overwhelmed with "all things baby"! I had NO IDEA where I would put everything. I had to get creative with my storage techniques. So, needless to say, we have run out of room in our townhouse and it is up for sale! We are looking for a bigger house and hope and pray our current one sells quickly. Please pray with us!

I do love our current home and will miss it.... it has been the house we came home to after our honeymoon and the home we brought Judah home to from the hospital. Josh and I have so many memories here. Not to mention our good friends, Tony and Haley (Haley Lamb Photography), live right behind us, we are across the street from our church, New Hope, and I am a mile from work! Oh well, all good things must come to an end. I know that we will love the next home the Lord puts us in just as much as we love this one and we can create more new memories in it!

Where Are We?

My goal for having a blog is to have our life "in writing" . I do try to keep a very detailed baby book for Judah but that does not have much about Josh and I. So, here's an update on where we are in life.

Although it seems like Judah was just born, he is now almost 7 months old- 7 months on Monday to be exact. I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by since he was born! Judah is so much fun! Josh and I were talking as we were putting Judah to be last night about how much we LOVE this stage of his life. Each stage of Judah's life has been enjoyable but now he is getting his own personality- and watching it develop is great! Judah likes to play little games with us like peek-a-boo, or "Where's Judah?" as we call it. Playing games with him just makes him smile SO big and belly laugh.... WE LOVE IT!!! Our strong boy is sitting up and just transitioned into his big boy car seat last week, and let me tell you- HE THINKS HE IS HOT STUFF! He really enjoys facing forward and seeing everything as we pass by. Although he is not crawling, Josh wants him to so bad! He gets on the floor with Judah and does his best to get Judah to push up on all fours and crawl! To be honest, I am completely fine with him not crawling yet! We all know how crazy life will be once he does! Judah is also learning to wave! Judah truly is such an amazing blessing to us! We never knew how wonderful life would be with a child of our own until he arrived. Josh and I thank the Lord for him daily. We pray many, many blessing over his life. My prayer for Judah, ever since I found out I was pregnant with him, is that the Lord will use him for His glory and take him to the nations to spread His Word!

Josh is SO busy with life right now. He is, most importantly, an amazing husband and dad but also.... working full time (plus some) at Verizon, in school getting his masters in education to teach middle school, leading a middle school Bible study for guys, and leading a Bible Club through our church (New Hope) at Evan's Middle School.... he is one busy guy!

Since Judah has been born, I have been re-evaluating how I spend my time because we all know that being a parent changes everything! This is my life as of now (aside from being a wife and mom).... teaching 3rd grade at Brookwood Elementary, leading a high school Bible study for girls, and attending a small group Bible study with some AMAZING girls. I truly love and enjoy everything I am committed to. I realize how blessed I am to have the fantastic friends and family that I do!

So, this is where we are in life :)

Beginning....

Well, here we go! I am now a blogger. Josh asked me soon after Judah was born if I was going to be a blogger.... I happily said "NO" because I did nto think it was for me. Recently I have been thinking more and more about it and decided today would be the day!

More posts to come, off to bed!
